My Fellow Brothers and Sisters,
The 2008 summer season has arrived!!
With the arrival of the summer season comes the arrival of tick season.
Be sure to check for ticks and know what to do if you have one on you.
When the heat index reaches over 100 degrees make sure you drink lots of non alcoholic and non caffeine drinks to keep yourself hydrated during the heat of the day, also take frequent breaks and wear light loose fitting clothing.
Be assured that your Union is doing everything possible to monitor the progress of the pay issues from the winter season.
As we approach June 30, all eyes are on Harrisburg and the 2008-2009 Budget. We hope that the House of Representatives and the Senate will pass and the Governor sings the budget in time so, we will not have to go through another July 9, 2008 again.
Check back daily for updates on the Budget and any new information we have on furloughs if the need arises.
Have a safe, fun and exciting Summer Season.
In Solidarity,
Ric (Spanky) Walter
